The Rain has Finally Stopped

Hi Everyone,

The rain has finally stopped. In 33 days we had 20 inches of rain. The lakes here are full to capacity so the dams have had to open their gates. Unfortunatly, that means a lot of people on the river have gotten flooded. I hope all my four legged friends are all okay.

Today I'd like to share a few pictures of Norfork dam and surrounding areas.

  Aren't I a handsome dude?
The water had actually gone down some before we arrived but the fishing was still good. Six trout and a small bass. Not bad for a few hours work.

This is another picture of the water below Norfork Dam. It sure is a beautiful spot and felt so cool.

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend. Wait till you see my new friends I met on the Norfork Lake.

 Enjoy the sunshine.

My Friend Bogie

Hi Everyone,

I would like to share a few pictures of my friend Bogie. Each day I take my walk I will share with you some pictures of my neighborhood friends.

Bogie is fast....He is also so well trained that he does put a lot of pressure on us less than perfect dogs. But he's still a friend and we do give each other a good workout when we get together.

Bogie may have short legs but this boy can run. He sure put me thru my paces the first time we met. By the time he was done chasing me I had to crawl into my water bowl just to cool down.

I have to admit if Bogie doesn't want to play. Bogie doesn't play. No matter how much I irritate him he will ignore me if he's not in the mood. Guess he's just getting old.

Gotta go. Time for me to help my mom feed the birds again. They sure eat a lot.

Baxter Is Back

Hi Everyone,

I know it's been a while since I've updated you on my activities but things have been busy around here. My family was out of town for a few weeks so I went to the doggie spa and had a great time visiting with my friends. Met a few new one's too. Since I got home we have had nothing but rain, rain, and more rain. In the last seven days alone we've had about 10" of rain. Doing my business outside has been an adventure, to say the least. I was beginning to think I would have to grow webbed feet.

The sun has finally popped out and the temperature is warming up again. I am now back to my neighborhood walks and seeing my friends. Had another new adventure this week. I got my first haircut. It was kind of fun to have someone fuss over me. I got a nice clip, a good brushing, and a very nice massage.
I liked it.

Don't I look handsome? Can't wait to get out
and show my friends how great I look.

Take care everyone and enjoy that sunshine.

Not Feeling Well

Sorry I haven't written much lately but I've been a little under the weather. I ate one of my owners shoes, well the beads on the top of the shoe, and they really didn't agree with me at all. It seemed like a fun idea at the time.I guess I need to be a little more picky about what I eat. My new mom wasn't to happy with me either, if you know what I mean.

Another favorite thing for me to do is jump in the shower when someone is getting cleaned up. I love sticking my head under the shower curtain and feel the water on my head. My family says I get the floor wet and I need to stop it but hey, it's fun.

The weather has turned really cold here and I love it. There is nothing like a good jog on a cold crisp morning. Have a great day everyone.

Feeling Left Out

My family has been hard at work and I'm missing my walks. Yesterday it rained most of the day and it was really dreary. I'm hoping for some sun today but it doesn't sound very promising. I keep hearing that Spring will be here soon but I'm not sure what that means.
I'm making sure the birds have plenty of food and I've noticed a lot of squirrel activity from my spot by the window. I try to chase them away from the feeders but it is nice to have new visitors to the yard. I take my job seriously though cause I know my friends are depending on me to keep them fed and safe.

Good news to share. My family says since I am now fully potty trained I get to sleep in their big bed with them at night. How cool is that!.... I love it.

Everyone Needs A Day of Rest

The snow is gone now and I'm trying to catch up on some much needed rest.

Hey, I'm a hard worker and I do need my beauty sleep.

Yesterday I visited my friend Nemo. He's a little older than I am and not exactly the best playmate but we did have fun chasing each other and playing hide and seek under the furniture.

My family has been busy with some inside house painting and it's my job to make sure they don't miss any spots. From my point of view I can see all those lower areas they might miss. Someone else has to eye the top part though cause I am only eight inches high.

I've also been busy keeping an eye on the birds and their feeders. It's my job to let the family know when the feeders need refilling. I try to keep them well fed...No I don't chase them. I just enjoy watching them.

Got to run for now. It's time for my walk.

Snow Day

Yesterday I was surprised to wake up to a yard full of white, cold stuff. I've never seen this stuff before but boy I sure love it. On my walk I was able to run and jump thru this soft fluffy mixture my family calls snow. I had a great time and can't wait for my next walk. The snow stuck to my nose and belly and between my toes. Trying to do my bathroom business was a little tuff but my family cleared some of the yard for me. They sure are considerate.

I saw a lot of beautiful sights on my walk and I'd like to share them with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

This is the small lake in our park next to my home. In the summer we have ducks visit and I can't wait to meet them. The park has a lot of walking trails and I love meeting new friends who also enjoy the park. I especially enjoy the ones that have four legs like me.
This is the fence that runs between my home and the park.  Pretty cool! I can't wait to get out today and knock some of that snow off the fence rails. Time for me to get my family out and about. I need a good run.
